Thanksgiving musings...

Sad to see the 4 day holiday come to an end, but it has been amazing. I honestly felt more connected to myself and those I love than I have in a long time, and Thanksgiving has always been the litmus test of where I am in my life.

Feeding people is my gift, when I bring food or invite you to my table you receive a part of my soul. Cooking for me is personal, passionate and way to express myself. If I am in a good place, the food and creativity flows, if I am “off” or struggling internally somehow I am miserable and blocked.

It’s been almost 2 years since we were gutted as a family by loss, trauma and just so much damned pain. Dealing with it all led me back to food, my haven and my peace. This quote by grief and loss counselor Dr. Alan Wolfelt has become my new mantra because there are just no words at times, but there is still love and caring that can be shared through food.

2019 is going to be a whirlwind for me with so much change. But with food back as the center of my universe, it will all be just fine.

But the most important thing to say here is Thank You. Restarting my blogging career and returning to this more food centric life has been exactly what I needed. Your support and sharing of my recipes, and the conversations shared has been so good for my soul and has reaffirmed what I should have known all along...

People who love to eat, are always the best people.
